Domestic Abuse Volunteer Support Services - talk to us

Are you experiencing domestic abuse? You can take action

Tell someone what is happening to you – this is really important

Make arrangements with friends, relatives or employers about what to do if they are concerned about you.

Don’t keep any physical assault secret

Your GP or hospital A&E will record your injuries as well as treat them. And do tell your GP or Health Visitor about any other forms of abuse you may be experiencing. Emotional or psychological abuse can be equally damaging.

Break the Isolation

Do keep in contact with others and get help. Isolation can make it harder for you to take action.

Call the Police

If you and/or your family are being threatened or attacked Dial 999. Ask neighbours to call the police if they hear cries for help, yelling or loud noises. If you want to report something that is not so urgent, then Dial 101, the Police non-emergency number.

Talk to us at DAVSS

Call us on our helpline 01892 570538 so that we can support you and discuss options for the future. The helpline is open between 10am and 1pm and there is an ansafone at all other times.

Domestic abuse does not dicriminate - neither do we.
